The Theology Behind The King James Version

By Pastor Bruce K. Oyen

The King James Version has been the most-read English Bible translation of all time. It was first published in 1611. For many years, I read it at least twice a year and now do so, perhaps, 1 3/4 times a year. I often compare my copy of the 1611 edition with subsequent editions.

Have you ever wondered about the theology behind the King James Version? That is, have you ever wondered what King James and his translators believed? Perhaps you know they all were members of the Church Of England. But have you ever looked into what that denomination believed at the time the King James Version was produced?

This is a very fascinating subject. What follows is a link to a website that gives the official doctrines of the Church Of England from the time when the King James Version was published. Please note that their beliefs are presented without any comment on them, except for some introductory statements concening The Thirty-Nine Articles Of The Church Of England.
